The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has named 66 North American facilities as winners of its 2022 Accident Prevention Competition, specifically for their low rates of worker safety incidents.

This year, many of Owens Corning’s facilities across the US were winners in various categories, along with TAMKO Building Products, LLC and CertainTeed LLC.

Entrants in the annual competition were judged according to ARMA criteria, derived from standards set by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This information is collected through quarterly safety data reports for the past calendar year.

ARMA members are invited to enter the contest by submitting data for their entire company, a specific division, or an individual plant or factory in North America. Winners are honored in four different categories, with a “perfect” score meaning zero safety incidents were recorded.

“We are proud of the commitment ARMA members have to a safe work environment for all employees,” says the association’s executive vice president, Reed Hitchcock. “These facilities continue to maintain high standards in plant health and safety.”
