CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A worker is recovering after a train collided with a backhoe Monday afternoon, according to Hamilton County EMS.
The crash happened at 1 p.m. on tracks near the 6900 block of Old Hickory Valley Road.
Authorities tell us the unidentified worker was working on the backhoe when the accident happened.
CPD says the train operator is believed to have failed to see the construction signals and continued on the tracks where the train struck the worker while operating the backhoe.
An ambulance took the 52-year-old construction worker to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
