Designed to streamline and enhance patient care, this eight-story, 350,000-square-foot tower offers a wide range of outpatient services under one roof, including cancer treatment, radiology, women’s health, infusion therapy, a pharmacy and laboratory services.
The facility increases outpatient capacity by 69%, supporting 168,000 additional patient visits annually. City of Hope is one of 57 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers and is home to world-leading research and treatment for cancer, diabetes and other serious diseases.
All work progressed while the hospital remained fully operational with minimal disruption. The team adopted laser scanning systems, drone imaging and robotic design to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The building also seamlessly connects to existing campus structures through elevated corridors and lobbies.
The contractor’s foresight to ensure early release of funds allowed for advanced procurement of components such as structural steel and MEP equipment ahead of price volatility, saving the owner over $30 million and preserving the budget.
