With a stunning facade that uses bespoke fins that tilt in different directions, as well as strategic lighting, this 27-storey tower is Harwood International’s tallest to date. The 387.5-foot structure includes 344,400 square feet of office space and 17,000 square feet of retail. With a design that emphasizes natural elements, the building also features green spaces and a 17,000 square meter roof garden.

Prior to structural concrete placements, a drone flight documented all bar, post-tensioning and sleeve installations. The same process was used on the outer facade to confirm the quality of the envelope. The vertically placed exterior fins, which are part of the curtain wall system, are the most distinctive feature of the project. Each of the 2,233 fins is unique in its depth, orientation from the building and length, ranging in size from 4 inches to 16 inches deep and 15 feet to 45 feet long. Both the curtain wall system and fins are made from aluminum plate, with the fins laser cut. To ensure accuracy, the team used 3D modeling files and digital design to detail and coordinate the scope of work with specialist designers and contractors.

With the project located on a restricted footprint of 2 hectares adjacent to high-rise buildings and a major thoroughfare, ensuring the safety of the public and site workers was paramount. A safety netting system was deployed along three elevations to protect against falling objects and provide secondary fall protection.
