Bengaluru: Rajankunte police have arrested a father-son duo for allegedly setting a backhoe on fire while opposing an encroachment clean-up drive by the Bengaluru district administration. The incident took place at Shivakote village in Yelahanka taluk on Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle narrowly escaped after the duo threw bottles filled with petrol and kerosene and set him on fire. Following a complaint by the Yelahanka tahsildar, the police lodged an FIR against C Bachegowda and his son Chethan. The duo also verbally abused revenue officials who were clearing encroachment on a road. Finance Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said: “Those involved in They have been arrested setting fire to vehicles while driving.
