A contracting company is asking for help after a backhoe was stolen from a Grand Forks construction site.
Ryan Anderton, president of Anderton Contracting, reported the theft of a 2011 Volvo backhoe, model BL70, he said in a message to the Gazette. The backhoe was last seen on 72nd Avenue in Grand Forks, next to the ball diamonds at Dick Bartlett Park.
“If you operate within online marketplaces or trading platforms, we ask that you be on the lookout for any suspicious listings that may involve our stolen backhoe,” he said. “Also, we recommend sharing this information with your networks, as someone else may have relevant information.”
He added that helping to find the stolen backhoe is not only vital to his business, but also crucial to deterring such thefts in the construction industry.
In subsequent comments, he said he has reached out to the community on Facebook in some community groups. A few people have shared this information, but no solid lead so far.
Anderton Contracting is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone who can help them recover the unit.
