Lincolnshire County Council has doubled the length of its motorway maintenance agreement with Balfour Beatty.
The deal means the UK’s biggest contractor by turnover will look after the area’s roads until 2032.
Balfour was awarded a £217m deal in 2019, which started in April 2020 for an initial period of six years.
It has now been extended to spring 2032, bringing the company £330 million more work on Lincolnshire’s roads.
Balfour Beatty Living Places will continue to maintain the region’s 9,240 kilometers of roads, providing repairs, drainage cleaning, grating and traffic management where necessary.
The contractor will use its operational control center to monitor activities in real time and drive efficiency through digital planning. It will employ 183 hired people, including apprentices and graduates.
Steve Helliwell, managing director of Balfour Beatty Living Places, said: “We are delighted that Lincolnshire County Council has extended our contract for a further six years, which demonstrates the strong relationship we have built.
“Today’s announcement will see us continue to provide the best highway maintenance service while providing customer-focused solutions in a collaborative partnership and leaving a lasting positive legacy for the communities we serve.”
Jonathan Evans, head of highways customer and contract management services at the council, said councilors voted unanimously to extend the contract.
“We have achieved a number of improvements for the residents of Lincolnshire and I am excited to be working with Balfour Beatty to implement them in the near future,” he added.
