On April 9, Bentley Systems presented a offer of products that could drastically reduce the costs and time to evaluate and analyze the assets of the infrastructure by combining their software tools with the panoramic images of Google Street View.

Announced on Google Cloud in 2025, the new capabilities of the Blynccsy products offer in Bentley, which applies to massive images for automated road detection and inspection, will help infrastructure administrators to improve road maintenance and support disaster recovery. According to a Bentley’s press statement, Bentley software will be able to provide a very detailed analysis of the assets along with visual references, while Google Vertex AI adds the ability to build and maintain models to alert agencies to infrastructure assets before turning to safety risks.

Linear infrastructure inspections such as roads will usually be driving along the pavement with special detection equipment to find waste, cracks and other problems, a method that is not able to provide a 360 ° view. The integration of Google Street View will do this, says Mark Pittman, Bentley’s Transport Director.

“It gives a complete picture of the assets,” he says. For example, when a vehicle drives on a freeway by collecting assets information, it may be able to capture damage to the fight, but not to the next pavement.

In addition, since agencies usually use Street View, they can use previous images to compare with the state of the infrastructure more at present. “You can nowSomething as a point of time, “he says.” What if there is a natural disaster event? How did you see, for example, six months ago? “The agency could make rapid damage assessments, causing faster reconstruction.

Bittman states that hiring companies to inspect roads with specialized equipment could cost an average of $ 300 per mile. According to Blynccsy’s new application, it could reduce this cost at least half. “Agencies were aCollection [Street View] Images for another purpose, “he says. He adds that the data, he adds, can be repopulated for decision -making on maintenance, updates and potential recovery of disasters. In comparison with the time it would take to collect data on the agency’s road assets, for thousands of kilometers, he said.

For example, if a state transport department traditionally needed 10 months to collect and process road system data, the product supply could reduce it to 10 days or less, according to him.

“We have been able to take the same information to market at half the cost and deliver it in 98% less time, because it has already been collected. And now, with Google, we have access to information on the exponential infrastructure,” he says.

Results of the collaboration

The ad comes after Bentley and Google announce a strategic collaboration in October 2024 to integrate high quality geospacial content with Bentley’s infrastructure engineering software to improve the way it is designed, built and works.

This collaboration, according to Bentley officials, allows software users and developers to use the geoschial content of Google Maps, including Google 3D photorealistic tiles, for the geoschial context of the real world and immersive 3D experiences in Bentley’s digital work flows.

Bittman says that Google Imaging views will be available in Blynccsy at the end of this year, with the announcement, according to Bittman. “We will work with several key customers to ensure that all their needs and desires are integrated into the product by the end of this year.”

Yael Maguire, Vice President and CEO of the Google Maps and Google Earth platform, said in the statement: “Because our strategic partner, Bentley combines solutions of industry -leading infrastructure with the main technologies of the AI and google mapping, such as vertex and a street vision, to provide powerful analytics to public and private leaders who need information on public leaders To make more informed decisions … We have a leadership history when applying reproduction reproduction for reproduction for reproduction for reproduction for reproduction for reproduction to apply to the revision of leadership reproduction to apply to the reproduction of leadership reproduction in the application of leadership decisions in the application of vice or vice taughters. Adding 360 -degree images of Google and AI will further improve the value Bentley provides transportation departments and world engineering companies. “
