
Boeing has selected a joint Be & K and Hitt Contracting company as responsible for construction for updates to infrastructure, which is part of the $ 1 billion expansion in Charleston, SC BRPH is the record architect with work that will begin later this year and are completed at the beginning of 2027, according to an Hitt ad.
Boeing said that last December, a billion dollars would invest to expand the city’s operations. Its southern Carolina unit manufactures, rides and offers 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10.
The company’s investment will expand two campuses in the north of Charleston, supporting an increase in the Dreamliner’s production objectives, with the aim of producing 10 aircraft per month in 2026. Boeing also operates a campus in Orangeburg, SC, about 75 kilometers north -west of Charleston that will not be expanded, said the manufacturer.
The joint company CM did not share the scope and value of the exact contract for the work of infrastructure related to expansion.
Boeing started operating in South Carolina in 2009 and now occupies more than 7,800 in Spain. The expansion plan is expected to add 500 employees to the total when it comes out online. The existing production of the firm is focused on its gold plant of 1.2 million gold feet of Leed, built with more than 18,000 tons of structural steel and 11 of 614 feet of ceiling. The installation has the largest extension of any Boeing installation, with 464 feet between the support columns, according to Be & K.
