Bryan Construction has appointed a new CFO.

The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based builder named Kristi Rader to the top finance position, according to a Monday announcement from the builder. Prior to the promotion in January, Rader was the company’s director of accounting.
Rader joined the Bryan Construction team in September 2023, according to his LinkedIn. She left her role as controller at Norwood Development Group, a real estate developer focused on multifamily and community projects, according to the company’s website. Rader brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience to the position, according to the release.
In his role as CFO, Rader will oversee Bryan Construction’s financial strategy, reporting and controls, cash flow and treasury operations along with risk management, according to the news release. Rader will also lead the accounting, human resources and information technology teams.
Rader’s appointment follows the retirement of Vince Shoemaker, former chief financial officer of Bryan Construction, who worked for the company for 27 years, according to the release. He stepped away in December, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page.
In addition to Rader, Bryan Construction filled a handful of other positions, including:
- Chris Gilkes as CIO. Gilkes will lead technology modernization initiatives, strengthen cybersecurity practices and support scalable systems.
- Jamie Lanphear as HR Director. Lanphear will manage the human capital strategy, including recruiting, talent development, performance management, employee relations and regulatory compliance.
- Ramse Nansel as executive manager of northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. Nansel oversees a portfolio that includes the defense and aerospace, federal, healthcare, multifamily and K-12 markets.
Bryan Construction posted revenue of approximately $377 million in 2024, according to the Engineering News-Record Top 400 Contractors list. Jobs are needed in markets that include data centers and advanced manufacturing buildings; federal work in mission-critical and defense jobs; and multi-family apartment projects, according to its website.
The appointments also reflect Bryan Construction’s growth ambitions in the federal and commercial construction markets, according to the release.
Colorado represents the the country’s second largest space economyaccording to the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corp., with more than 150 aerospace companies located in the area. The industry, which has grown around five military installations in the region, among them the US Air Force Academyrepresents an annual economic impact of $3.1 billion.
Bryan Construction told Construction Dive via email that it planned to use the Colorado Springs location as a springboard for both local and national clients.

In this context, Rader said that she is ready for the expansion of the company.
“My focus is on building strong financial systems that support our people, strengthen our operations and position Bryan Construction for the next chapter of growth,” Rader said in the news release.
