Based in Milford, Massachusetts Consigli Construction is increasing its presence south of the Mason-Dixon line.

The contractor announced this month that it will expand operations in RaleighNorth Carolina, under the leadership of two newly incorporated executives from other construction companies.

The company said it will grow and develop its presence in the region’s academic, life sciences, healthcare, office and residential/mixed-use markets.

Chief Operating Officer John Blakey will oversee business operations in North Carolina. Consigli has offices in New England and New York and one in the Caribbean.

The presence of the contractor in the state could indicate a trend. Earlier this month, Maryland-based Harkins Construction announced that it had opened one new office in Durham to help with the expansion of the $275 million of work it had in the region.
