A public-private partnership between Boeing Co., Greater St. Louis Inc. and the Saint Louis Economic Development Association plans to conduct Phase 2 of the Boeing Project Voyager Assembly facility in Berkeley. Phase 2 consists of a 660,000 square meter assembly building, a 200,000 square meter paint hangar, an additional 150,000 square meter hangar and 60,000 square feet for additional outdoor aircraft shelters, a house silent and a fuel calibration building. 7/16 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to perform levee removal on Poplar Island Cell 6 and Cell 11. Poplar Island is an ecosystem restoration project located in the mid-upper Chesapeake Bay in Talbot County. The overall scope of this project is to use approximately 300,000 cubic meters of stored sand to raise two existing containment cell dikes on the island. The 14,000-foot-long Cell 6 dike will rise from an elevation of +25 feet to +30 feet. The work will be completed by manually hauling sand from an on-site sand tank located in the adjacent Cell 4. The secondary purpose of this contract is to use the remaining sand in the Cell 4 stockpile to raise a 15,000-foot long portion of the Cell 11 sandbank by approximately 3-5 feet. ILLINOIS
7/25 PACE, a bus agency, is soliciting proposals from design and construction teams for the North Phase 2 expansion and electrification project at its garage in Waukegan. The agency has secured federal funding to purchase 22 electric buses this year. Ten of those buses will be based at the Waukegan garage, which is slated to convert to all-electric operations by 2026. The work involves expanding the bus storage area by 13,400 square feet, which will replace the north wall and will add approximately 7,650. square meters of exterior wall. Additional work includes roof removal and replacement, structural strengthening of the roof structure, new roof-mounted exhaust fans, crane and fall protection, upgrading the facility’s electrical system, since the recommended charging strategy uses medium voltage power (12 kV-50 kV). )—and the purchase and installation of air cargo loaders and pantographs for 60 BEBs.
