A recently presented subsidiary of Flatirondragados is combining three existing companies in the New York area in a new entity that will address civil construction projects in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
A subsidiary of the contractor of Brofield, Colo., SPC Construction Co. Combine Schiavone Construction Co., John P. Picone Inc. and EE CRUZ & CO. Inc.
Flatirondragados, part of the Global Infrastructure Company, says that the three companies that include the construction of SPC integrate complementary skills and experience. Schiavone’s experience includes tunnel, mass traffic and metro, bridges and roads, deep foundations, marine work and water treatment plants. Picone focuses on public works, specifically on the tunnel, hydraulic works and water infrastructure. EE Cruz works in transport infrastructure, resilience protection, deep foundations, bridges and geotechnical projects.

The ACS group combined their dragados unit with FlatIRON Construction in a single operation in July 2024 to create what the ACS in Madrid said would become the second largest civil engineering company in the United States, the two companies presented separate surveys in the 400 best contractors of 2025. that FlatIRON CONSTRUCTION CORP occupied the 51th place with $ 2.59 million in income.
Prior to the remodeling, Schiavone and Picone were already subunits of dragados, while EE Cruz fell under the umbrella of FlatIRON.
The new subsidiary will be directed by the CEO Jesus Diez, who previously worked as an executive vice president, affiliates, for Dragados USA. Joe Sheehan, who used to work as President of the EE Cruz, is the chief manager of SPC and Neil Wegman, the former President of John P. Picone and Cutoring Financial, is the Financial CFO.
