Providence, Gilbane Building Co., based in Rhode Island, has promoted a Stalwart from the New York City Industry to lead its business operations to the Grand Apple. The builder touched Raquel Diaz, who previously worked in New York companies, Aecom Tishman and Turner Construction, in office, according to one News of April 11.

A training engineer, Diaz contributes more than 18 years of experience and $ 2.8 billion in projects deliveries in New York City, according to the statement.
“New York City has been my home since I moved here at the age of 18.It is an honor to lead the operations of the Gilbane building and bring excellence to hospitals, parks, schools, office buildings and community facilities that make New York city fantastic,” Diaz said in a statement.
In his new role, Diaz will promote the strategy and growth of the company in the city of New York, expand its portfolio and market services offers, promote the development and growth of equipment and provide world class facilities for customers and communities, according to launch. Prior to the promotion, Diaz was Vice President of Gilbane, according to his Linkedin.
Since joining Gilbane in 2019, Diaz has significantly expanded the portfolio of the builder’s public sector, which includes:
- The design and construction department of NYC Centers of excellence centers.
- The Restoration of the Orchard Beach Pavilion for NYC Economic Development Corporation and the New York Parks Department.
- The Metropolitan Hospital Resilience Project for New York City and the city’s economic development corporation.
- Five reforms of the Carnegie Library for the New York Public Library.
- Several new recreational space projects for Hudson River Park Trust.
Diaz contributes extensive operational experience and has played several roles throughout his career, including MEP’s project manager, MEP Superintendent, Purchase Estimation/Engineer, Senior Project Manager, Project Director and Executive Project Executive in High Profile Projects in the New York Metropolitan Area, according to the statement.
