Brief of diving:
- General Motors is planning to invest $ 888 million in its Tonawanda propulsion plant in Buffalo, New York, to support the production of the next generation of its V8 gas engine for full -size trucks and SUVs, announced the automobile manufacturer In a press statement Tuesday.

The GM Tonawanda propulsion plant has been operational since 1938 and originally mounted engines and 6 -cylinders for Chevrolet vehicles. In addition to producing engines for trucks and GM SUVs, The plant also builds engines for Chevrolet Corvette. The plant employees are represented by the local UAW 774.

GM did not share details on which V8 engine will make the Tonawanda plant and replace one of its current V8 engine models.
The automobile manufacturer offers a 5.3L and 6.2L gas V8 motor option for 2025 Chevy Silverado collection. GM also manufactures 6.6 liter L8T V8 engine in Tonowanda, offered to the 2000hd 2025 Silverado Chevrolet and other models of resistant trucks.
