Hensel Phelps has a new CEO.
Brad Jeanneret, formerly president and COO of the Greeley, Colo.-based contractor, has took the helm as president and CEOaccording to a January 6 announcement. The change took effect on January 1.
Jeanneret succeeds Mike Choutka, who had served as CEO since 2019, according to the announcement. Choutka will now move into a new role as chairman of the board.
Jeanneret joined Hensel Phelps in 1996 in Southern California as a field engineer. According to his Hensel Phelps biography, he worked as a superintendent, project manager and vice president.
While in her previous roles, Jeanneret worked in regional offices and business units that helped her better understand the company and its culture, according to her bio. In 2023, Jeanneret also led the creation of Diverge, the innovation and advancement arm of Hensel Phelps, which aims to use new ideas, technology and approaches to strengthen the company’s long-term competitiveness.
“Brad has demonstrated strong leadership and delivered exceptional results, and the Board has full confidence in his ability to lead Hensel Phelps forward,” Choutka said in the statement. “Having held many roles across the organization during his 29-year career, his extensive operational experience has prepared him to take the helm.”
In addition to Jeanneret’s appointment, Hensel Phelps also made the following executive moves at Southwest, according to the release:
- Steve Grauer has been promoted to executive vice president, overseeing the Southwest region, mission-critical integrated services and solutions, after serving as the region’s regional vice president since 2008.
- Cole Weaver has been promoted to regional vice president for the Southwest region, following a 19-year career marked by progressive leadership roles, most recently as the region’s chief operating officer.
Hensel Phelps isn’t alone: Concord, Calif.-based Swinerton also has an executive transition, with the chief revenue officer. Don Adair retired effective January 9.
