Mace Consult has hired former ISG UK construction director Zoe Price to lead its European business as managing director, in what the firm says is a “significant step” towards its planning for its parent company.
“Zoe has valuable operational and delivery experience and is ready to apply that knowledge and experience to achieve positive results for clients across all markets and service lines in our European hub,” Davendra Dabasia, CEO of Mace Consult, said in a Monday’s press release announcing Price’s appointment.
Price, who also had her first day at the firm on Monday, is a 20-year construction industry veteran who previously held senior roles at UK contractors Willmott Dixon and Morgan Sindall.
“With a strong focus on service excellence for our clients, Mace Consult has enjoyed double-digit growth in recent years, and I look forward to working with our talented teams across Europe to expand our footprint and deliver programs that benefit communities across the Centre,” Price added in a press release.
At ISG, Price served as group director for public sector frameworks and chief operating officer before succeeding chief executive Matt Blowers at the helm of the company following his departure in February 2024 in hopes of a “fundamental reset” of the company’s financial health. In September 2024, the company filed for “administrative” protection – a type of bankruptcy in the UK – after six of its subsidiaries did the same, putting thousands of employees out of work.
In an all-staff memo announcing the decision, Construction News reported that Price wrote that the company had been hit by “legacy issues” and “large loss-making contracts.”
Price’s new gig at Mace Consult comes amid a flurry of activity from other firms as it prepares for its independence from Mace Group thanks to a majority investment from private equity firm Goldman Sachs Alternatives, announced in July.
Additional hires announced include Louise Sunderland as Head of Cities and Places, Martyn Court as Head of Mobility, Rachael Saville as European Head of Program and Project Management and Andy Beard taking up the role of Managing Director of Infrastructure.
According to Mace Consult, its portion of the Mace Group is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
