Mecalac, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of compact construction equipment, is launching a new line of rugged skid steer loaders to the North American market. Comprised of six models, including the MCL2, MCL4, MCL4+, MCL6, MCL6+ and MCL8, the series features versatility and agility for industries ranging from agriculture to landscape, forestry, snow removal, utilities and construction. New hydraulic and maneuverability options, such as M-Drive and Speed Control, ensure the versatility of the machines both in terms of application and industry.
“Time and space to complete jobs are becoming increasingly limited,” said Peter Bigwood, CEO of Mecalac North America. “To enable our customers to be more productive, we have developed a line of compact loaders the size of a skid steer but with features and functionality not found in other machines of this size. Whether used in agriculture to push silage or as a replacement for a compact track loader on a construction site, these multi-functional loaders offer unmatched versatility to grow and tackle new applications.
Speed control and M-Drive features allow the loader to function as a tool carrier, providing RPM control with the hand throttle and speed control via a foot pedal. This allows for more precise and controlled operation of a wide variety of hydraulic accessories.
The ability to redefine the speed range via the pedal provides additional benefits for particular applications; for example, choosing a lower speed allows for improved accuracy in precise applications such as mowing, sweeping or using log grapple attachments. Both cruise control and M-Drive come standard on the MCL6 and MCL8 models and are options on the MCL2 and MCL4 models.
Each MCL in the series has an option for auxiliary hydraulic lines to the boom and to the rear of the machine, as well as 3-pole 12V plugs, further enhancing versatility by allowing the ability to use hydraulic attachments on each end of the machine. The MCL Series maximizes attachment possibilities with 7.9 gpm flow on the MCL2 and MCL4 models and 15.9 gpm flow on the MCL6 and MCL8 models.
The MCL4+ and MCL6+ models come standard with a short boom, which provides better tilt loading, while the other four models come standard with a long boom that maximizes tipping height. Long or short boom, the MCL series machines offer multi-functionality thanks to compatibility with a wide range of accessories. From pallet forks and multi-purpose buckets to booms, mowers and snow blades, these loaders provide maximum efficiency while minimizing downtime in a wide range of industries. Within the construction industry, operators may use a skid steer loader to mount pallet forks or multipurpose buckets. Landscaping contractors with skid steers can use Mecalac’s quick-coupling technology to combine augers, mowers, loading buckets and more. With its hydraulic and electric auxiliary lines, the MCL series is perfect for snow removal because a snow blade can be mounted on the front and a salt spreader can be mounted on the back of the machine. Farm or farm operations can use an MCL machine with an alligator bucket for manure and then switch to a blade to push the silage.
The optimal height-width-length ratio of the MCL series guarantees agility in any workplace. Each machine has a 45-degree articulation that keeps the front wheels traveling in the same path as the rear wheels while driving. A 10-degree wobble allows for strong tracking and maximum traction wherever the machine may travel, even on uneven terrain. The MCL2 and 4 models have a 25 horsepower motor, with travel speeds up to 7 mph for the MCL2 and 12 mph for the MCL4 and 4+. The rest of the models come with a 49 horsepower motor and travel up to 12 mph with an option included for travel speeds up to 19 mph.
Each MCL Series machine offers easy transportability between jobsites with a low transport weight ranging from 3,836 to 6,283 pounds and a minimum width ranging from 3 feet 4 inches to 4 feet 4 inches, depending on tire selection. Easy transportability appeals to contractors who transport multiple pieces of equipment, as well as rental fleets that handle pickup and delivery.
Safety remains a key focus for Mecalac in the MCL series with easy accessibility to enter the cab or refuel from a solid stand, reducing the risk of falls. In addition, the machines offer improved side and top visibility over similarly sized skid steers.
Customization options in the MCL series allow customers to tailor the machine to their specific operation. A starter digicode incorporates a keypad that offers the owner tracking and monitoring capabilities, allowing the ability to assign a specific code for each operator. The digicode also minimizes the risk of theft. Each machine is available in three versions: deck, deck with folding top or a cab version, in combination with a wide selection of accessories, which boost versatility and customization capabilities for individual operations.
Finally, MyMecalac Connected services offer the option to remotely manage a fleet of equipment with access to all machine usage data, providing owners with the information needed to minimize machine downtime through preventive maintenance. Opéraciones can add the telematic box installation, which includes a 2-year subscription, to any MCL model of your choice.
