Midgard has been confirmed as the contractor for two new skyscrapers in Tottenham Hale, north London.
Developer Related Argent has received a £243m loan from ICG Real Estate to develop 1 and 2 Ferry Island, paving the way for construction work to begin.
Midgard managing director Kevin Keegan said: “We are delighted that Related Argent has entrusted us with the construction of the final phase of the Heart of Hale programme. These are buildings of exceptional architectural quality and we look forward to delivering this new London landmark “.
One Ferry Island will consist of a 12-storey tower with 108 apartments, while 2 Ferry Island will contain 376 apartments in two 38-storey towers.
The new buildings form the second phase of the £600m Heart of Hale regeneration scheme, a partnership between Related Argent and the London Borough of Haringey, to build 1,032 new homes across seven buildings.
Residents of the two new buildings will have access to a private members’ club that occupies the entire first floor of 2 Ferry Island. The social space of 1,100 square meters will be equipped with a lounge, coworking space, games room and gym. Residents will also have access to three rooftop terraces.
Three buildings comprising 417 homes, at 1 and 2 Ashley Road and 3 Ferry Island, have now been completed and tenants have started moving into them.
Related Argent managing director Tom Goodall said: “The capitalization and start of major construction at 1 and 2 Ferry Island are important milestones in completing the Heart of Hale development, creating a new community and destination for Tottenham Hale.”
The works are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Related Argent is also the developer behind the regeneration of King’s Cross.
