Mycon General Contractors promoted Rick Dubec to senior vice president in charge of the company’s Central Texas and Arizona offices, the Dallas-based contractor announced in a News release of September 12.

Dubec, who has been with the company since 2016, will lead the company’s special projects and distribution center sectors, while overseeing multiple project teams.

With family ties to the construction industry, Dubec began his construction career in 1991 after serving in the US Marine Corps.

In 2004, while working in College Station, Texas, he partnered with a small general contractor and quickly established himself in the retail and grocery remodeling industry, according to the release. He merged his seven-employee team with Mycon to establish the company’s special projects division, also based in College Station, in 2016.

The division now has 165 employees across four Mycon offices, with projects in 15 states. The unit brought in more than $200 million in revenue last year.

Dubec has also helped Mycon solidify its relationship with retail giant Walmart as a member of Walmart’s General Contractors Advisory Board. Mycon has more than 25 distributor projects in its portfolio.
