Procore, a leading cloud-based construction management platform, said on January 20 that it has acquired Datagrid to enhance its artificial intelligence strategy and provide data connectivity to customers. The completed deal, with undisclosed terms, will immediately help contractor customers looking to autonomously handle shipment reviews and information requests, Procore said.
Datagrid is an AI-powered platform that connects drawings, specifications, and schedules from multiple financial and construction management systems into a single workspace. Co-founded by CEO Thiago Da Costa and based in San Francisco, the company has seen strong adoption by contractors for everything from managing processes for submissions and information requests to tracking financial progress.
The purchase of the Datagrid technology, which is designed to work with third-party systems and be data independent, gives Procore strength in the agent AI space and goes beyond the suggestions and recommendations available in its current AI offerings, such as CoPilots.
In its announcement, Procore said Datagrid products will be immediately available to its customers, as well as to non-customers.
“While core AI capabilities remain embedded in the Procore platform, Datagrid’s offering will support customers with multiple data sources and advanced reasoning use cases by unifying intelligence, automating complex tasks and emerging critical insights across the entire technology stack,” said Procore.
“Modern work has surpassed the human capacity for manual processing,” said da Costa, who joins Procore in the role of leading AI and data strategy. “Our focus has always been to build AI that can run, not just talk. By joining Procore, we can now unlock unprecedented levels of productivity and quality for the thousands of customers already building on their platform.”
