Skanska USA has been chosen as the construction manager to build a $197 million office building in Cincinnati.

Medpace, a clinical research company, is building the nine-story, 562,000-square-foot building that will have six floors of offices on top of a three-story parking garage and a conference center.

Groundbreaking began in February, and the project, east of downtown Cincinnati, is scheduled for completion in March 2027.

“The project presents unique challenges due to the need to rearrange the footprint of the existing campus,” says Chris Hopper, executive vice president/general manager of Skanska USA. “With the CPU building (computer processing building) moving to a new location and its current site being converted into a new tower, we are working on a very active campus.”

Medpace is located in Madison Square, which is about 30 acres, and houses five office and retail buildings, a hotel, a dining hall, a brewery and other services. The new office building will be occupied by around 1,500 Medpace employees.

“This area not only serves community members, but also Medpace employees, who rely heavily on the collaborative opportunities in their office buildings,” says Hopper. “It is therefore crucial to keep the offices and location operational throughout construction to ensure minimal disruption to their day-to-day activities.”
