Building on a key executive shakeup earlier this year, Chicago-based contractor Skender Construction has announced a series of executive moves to close in 2025.
the builder promoted two senior vice presidents up to executive positions: Andy Halik to president and Brian Bukowski to chief operating officer, according to a Dec. 2 news release. The news comes as a tip for 2025, a year in which Jerry Ball, the company’s current president and CEO, be promoted to these positions in January.
Halik joined Skender in 2011 and Bukowski in 2007, according to the press release. They have recently co-directed Skender’s groups Mission Critical and Interiors.
“To support responsible and strategic growth, we need the right people in the right roles,” said Ball, who is relinquishing his chairman title while retaining the CEO role. “Andy and Brian and their strategic vision for the future of the company make them perfect for this next step.”
The promotions come amid Skender’s continued investments in its core markets, which include multifamily, healthcare, office and interior work. This approach comes as the company simultaneously seeks to grow its footprint in critical and other emerging sectors, along with the Indianapolis geographic area.
Skander generated revenue of $546.8 million by 2024according to Engineering News-Record’s 2025 Top 400 Commercial Contractors list. Beyond his industry work, major projects have included IU Health Bloomington Regional Health Center and a 14-story interior construction for software company Salesforce in Chicago, according to his website.
Along with the C-suite moves, Skender promoted Brian Simons to president of its Indiana region from senior vice president and Ashlee Pforr to vice president of Interiors from project executive.
