After almost a decade, Sundt Construction has a new CEO.

The Tempe, Ariz.-based builder has used a longtime company veteran Cade Rowley as President and CEOaccording to an October 1 press release from the company. Prior to his promotion, Rowley served as the company’s president and chief operating officer, a position he held in 2024.
Starting at Sundt in 1998, Rowley entered the business as a field engineer in the company’s heavy civil group, which is now known as its transportation group, according to the release.
Rowley held positions in business development, preconstruction and operations before serving as senior vice president of Sundt’s transportation group, according to the release. Rowley then became leader of the company’s industrial group in 2022.
While leading the Industrial Group, the division tripled in volume to more than $1.3 billion in annual revenue in less than three years, according to the contractor.
In addition, Sundt said Rowley was crucial in the company’s expansion from a regionally focused contractor to one with a national presence. The company now has offices and workplaces in more than two dozen states.
In his new role, Rowley succeeds Mike Hoover, whose tenure as CEO began in 2016. Hoover has moved to the role of executive chairman, according to the news release.
“I have no doubt that he will continue to build on our legacy and lead Sundt to even greater success in the years to come,” Hoover said in the press release.
Sundt is not the only one who has made a recent executive change. In September, the long-standing group chief executive of London-based Balfour Beatty Leo Quinn, resigned as the company completed its transition and elevated Philip Hoare to the new role.
