Sundt Construction has promoted a company veteran Cade Rowley to President and COOthe Tempe, Arizona-based company announced Oct. 1.
In his new role, Rowley will serve as leader of strategy and operational execution, overseeing each of the company’s seven business units, according to a company press release. The 134-year-old, employee-owned company specializes in transportation, industrial, construction, concrete and renewable energy work.
Previously, Rowley served as president of Sundt’s industrial group. He first joined the company in 1998 as a field engineer in the company’s Heavy Civil (now Transport) group and progressed through multiple roles in business development, pre-construction and operations.
Under Rowley’s leadership, Sundt’s expertise has gained recognition in sectors such as water and wastewater, heavy industry and mining, and advanced technology, according to the release. Rowley also played a key role in Sundt’s expansion from a regionally focused contractor to one with a national presence with offices and workplaces in more than two dozen states.
Mike Hoover, president and CEO of Sundt since 2016, will continue to serve as CEO and chairman of the board.
“Throughout his 27-year career with Sundt, Cade has demonstrated exceptional adaptability, business acumen and character,” Hoover said in the statement. “He is the right leader to help guide Sundt through its next chapter of growth.”
Rowley holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University and is a registered professional engineer, according to the release.
He has served on the executive committee of the Arizona chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America and the governing council and political action committee of the national AGC. Rowley is also involved with the Beavers, a heavy civilian organization that encourages college students to pursue careers in heavy construction.
