With their new Nissan Stadium, the Titans of the National Football League are bringing the fan experience to a new level. The $ 2.2 million enclosure, of $ 2.1 million, will offer an outdoor sensation and a collection of interior services according to its hometown of Nashville. And it is ready to cover much more than football.
A construction period of almost three years is planned for its conclusion in time to host up to 60,000 fans in the first game of the 2027 football season.
Built on the east side of the current Nissan Stadium next to the Cumberland River, the new stadium is reduced in terms of seat numbers. It will have less than 69,124 seats in the current stadium, but the team says it is more focused on ensuring that “there is no bad place in the house.”
The project is built by the joint company of Tennessee Builders Alliance (TBA) by Turner Construction Co., AECOM HUNT, ICF Builders and Polk & Associates Construction Inc.

John Gromos, Senior Vice President of Turner and director for the JV, says that the project is currently a little over 40% in the calendar of 34 and a half month.
The end date of February 2027 provides the team a good court ahead of the first football game of the season so that the new stadium can host concerts or other events, says Kellen Decorey, executive of the project with the Titans.
“It has been a great collaboration (with TBA),” he says. “We are excited where we are … The project has been a very complete planning approach with TBA and the design team, so we have not seen many changes that cause problems or hiccups.”
The current Nissan Stadium is an aging installation with materials and infrastructures that reach the end of its useful life and its prefabricated concrete framework does not adapt to the long -term renewal. It is planned for demolition after the end of the New Stadium.
Manica’s design team as a main design architect and television televisions as a record architect have created a completely closed and heated stage with a complete interior halo interior known as the “Ring of Fire”.
“When we set out to create the design of the stadium, we knew that it had to fit into a new neighborhood,” says Decorey. “Working with Manica, we have changed the game [of thinking that] Football stages must be elliptical or they must be shaped like a spaceship. It is really a very civic building. It will almost work and work as a large land. “”
The work began in the spring of 2024 with a significant excavation of 400,000 kilometers of dirt, which moved from a inclined place of 20 hectares, which required the team to ride from 5 feet to 25 feet to get the place to the level, according to Gromos.
The perforated pillars followed the concrete hybrid frame structure through level 300 topped by steel. The last of 118 slabs raised to the site was completed in early May, and said that on May 4 it surpassed May 4. In mid -May, approximately 20% of the steel had been erected.

In mid -May, the project team estimated that about 20% of the structure steel had been erected.

First -level roof
Among the most notable features of the stage is a tetrafluoroetylene tile system (ETFE), 350,000 square feet, which allows sunlight to filter through translucent and light panels.
Tyler Baumgardt, Vice President of TBA and Vice President of the Hunt of the Hunt, of TBA, only two stages of the NFL. These are Sofi Stadium of California, also built by a Turner Construction-Aecom Hunt JV, and an allegiant Stadium of Las Vegas.
“We were able to remove a good amount of those individuals who were part of this (SOFI project) and obtain all the lessons learned,” says Baumgardt, who was key to getting materials on time and the coordinated calendar. “We only have a really experienced team with a really solid plan.”
The roof is something that Titans wanted to pursue for various reasons, according to Decoreyy, including attracting non -footballers such as struggle matches and basketball games that would require a covered stage and prevent the highest construction and maintenance costs of a retractable roof.

“ We also integrated some outdoor experiences with our terraces and our operational door systems so we didn’t feel like we needed to have an operating roof, ” says Decursey, but “ we really wanted to play the day’s light, to give people the experience you are outside, but you get the benefits of a closed environment. ”
The lighter ceiling also results in efficiency that resonate to the project, Baumgardt and Gromos Note, including smaller cranes and a lighter structure to the founding system.
“We have all done things from the retractable ceiling,” says Baumgardt. “You end up spending a fortune not only by strengthening the roof building, but also on mechanization, and then talking about larger cranes and longer programming.”
Decorey says the panels will be supported by cables up to almost 700 feet with a 660 -foot roof diameter. These cables travel approximately 6 feet through box beams through sleeves and tense from the back to make the roof in place, according to Baumgardt.
“It is basically a cable sleeve through a really large box of box in the roof ring beam,” he says.
Decorey says that the terraces that offer Nashville horizon views are a key component.
“With Manica and the design of the building, the general orientation of the latter and where it is located in the center of Nashville, we want to be able to offer people, although we are a closed environment, the ability to go out,” he says. “Nashville is known to the rooftops.”
The largest terrace, at the top of the top, is about 60,0000 square meters, adding, saying that the cheapest entrances will be one of the best experiences of Fan de la NFL.
“We have focused on a great experience in the room,” he says. “I think it is above and outside the typical NFL contests that really dress the experience and consciousness.
A space in the 12,000 -square -meter multipurpose community located just at the main entrance is another key aspect, one that is not football or the fact that Decoreyy says that groups can be used from Monday to Friday for things such as training and seminars.

Compared to other stages, the Titanas project has a lighter roof, which results in efficiency for its construction, including smaller cranes and a lighter structure to its foundation systems.

Reaching the final zone
The remaining locations of metal slab concrete will continue as the project goes to a target date of May 2026 for a substantial completion of high structural high concrete covers. The structural steel and the prefabricated concrete stage continue to progress inside the seat bowl and the exterior elevations of the west, north and south.
Freemasonry advances at various levels of the stadium, as is the interior light caliber at the mezzanine and main levels of the room, with exterior framing and basket in three elevations of facade.
Baumgardt said that public services were reduced, with the work that is being moved now to finish the rest of the building and prepare for the permanent power to come in the next eight to 12 months to “bring to life the building”.
In May, 2,673 workers have collected more than 1.5 million hours of work. About 1,100 workers are in the site every day and Gromos says that in Peak, when the interior work is the most busy, the project will have up to 2,000 in the site, probably in the third quarter of 2026.
Until now, the team has not touched any unexpected current, adds and the work has been progressing in the calendar.
“The calendar we presented during the search for this project … The main milestones we played up to date,” he says, adding that there have been normal daily coordination problems and conflicts, but “there have been no significant problems that we sometimes see in other projects.”
The project has also been able to meteorize labor problems largely due to the high level nature of an important sports project, says Baumgardt.
“When you are going to look for these mega sports projects, only call so much national attention [subcontractor] Market who then pulls the national labor force and, therefore, does not give off the local market, “he says, adding that the local market is still very involved in the project.
As the steel erection continues, the project team tries to keep up to date with federal fare policy that may affect the costs of steel imports, although most of the project steel was ordered much earlier, according to Baumgardt.
In addition, many of the materials come from domestic sources, according to him, and the project may hear the sprout of the rates only in small, select electronic and other parts.

The challenge is not unique in this project, but the conversation project teams continue to have a constant change with daily or weekly updates, according to Gromos. He also states that the long lead articles were mostly electrical components and that they were aggressively oriented for early launch packages that have disappeared largely depending on the plane.
“No one has a crystal ball that can predict what it seems,” he says. “So we are having a lot of conversations about whether and when it comes, how do we consider it? How is the right and right way to address -the one?”
The completed project, which is aimed at a Leed Gold certification, will capture rainwater from the roof to 400,000 gallons of tank collection tanks that will be reused for HVAC, toilet wash and irrigation, according to Decursey.
“One of the things we are really excited about is the operations of the building,” he says.
Includes an 8,000 square meter resource recovery room for waste manipulation, which in collaboration with waste management will order and recycle material for the target target to operate a zero waste installation.
It surrounds all this, and it is a new age not only for the titans, but also for Nashville and the surrounding area too, says Decorey.
“I think the ability to accommodate the number of events and what this means for Nashville and Tennessee, and we are already a city on the rise. I think this will lead us to the next level and it is very exciting to see -” he says.
