A prominent building materials supplier has launched its own off-site construction group to capitalize on demand for the business.
The Brussels-based Etex Group, which has a presence in 45 countries, including the UK, created the Remagin brand to offer a “comprehensive” and “end-to-end” service to customers.
Created by the merger of three of the company’s existing steel frame manufacturers – Yorkshire’s Sigmat, County Durham-based EOS and Irish entity Horizon – the new unit aims to double turnover by 2030.
Etex bosses expect Remagin to be used for a range of mainly residential projects, including houses, flats, retirement homes, care homes, hotels and student accommodation, as well as education workplaces and health
“The new brand will offer industry-leading lightweight, factory-assembled panels and associated services, all based on sustainable light-gauge steel frames,” the firm said.
Etex’s head of New Ways division, Patrick Balemans, said: “We are continually looking to evolve what we do and how we do things.
“I am proud to announce the launch of our new brand, Remagin, which offers highly efficient, cost-effective and sustainable integrated construction systems that outperform traditional construction methods.”
Scott Bibby, Ireland and UK manager for the global company, added: “This is an exciting time for the development of not only our own business, but the wider offsite construction industry.
“Because of the flexibility and proven benefits of panel building systems, things are really picking up steam and by combining our joint forces we are confident that we can accelerate and maximize the growth of the sector.
“Remagin is building on the strong foundations established by Sigmat, EOS and Horizon and is supported by Etex Group with its significant research and test capability and materials expertise. We are in a strong position to add significant lifecycle value and sustainability benefits to our customers.”
Earlier this year, 29 companies were appointed in a £10bn off-site framework to help deliver more social housing, new schools and hospital extensions.
