STV, based on Dallas, has been selected as head of Programs/Construction and Fort Worth, the Paslay Group, based in Texas, has been chosen as executive program manager to supervise a $ 575 million terminal modernization program at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport in Erlanger, Ky.
The program is offered by several design construction contracts, the two largest are the baggage manipulation system, which is delivered by Beumer Group and a modernization of the terminal led by the Hunt/Skanska and Hik design design team.
The project, called CVG Alta, is intended to meet the demand for passengers and streamline passenger processing at the airport. The multi -year project will replace the baggage manipulation system existing with an individual carrier system, will expand the terminal ticket area and the security checkpoint, and renew the transport tunnel for travelers, A and B competitions, public baths and elevators/escalators/escalators.
The initial scope of the program during the first quarter of 2026 is estimated to be $ 220 million. It is expected that the balance of the total cost of the program, including the guaranteed maximum price of the design designer, at the beginning of 2026, said element CVG in a statement.
The role of STV in the management of the program includes design, programming, financial controls, contract management, inspection services, project controls, operational preparation, as well as coordinating movement and closing activities.
The completion is expected by 2029 at the airport, which offers an endless service to 55 destinations from 14 airlines. It is also the seventh busiest load airport in North America, which hous two overall air hub: Amazon Air’s Hub and DHL Express’ Global Superhub for the Americas.
CVG had 8.7 million passengers by 2023, which represented a 15% increase over 2022.
“As part of the CVG Elevate program,” said Jerry Sheets, a senior vice president and group business leader for Aecom Hunt, in a statement that “an approach per phase to minimize the impact on passengers will be needed.”
Mindy Kershner, director of communications at the airport, says that the demolition of the baggage manipulation system has already begun. Incorporating the new system will be one of the biggest challenges of the modernization project, she and STV agree.
“One of the most complex aspects of the project is to eliminate the installation of a completely new baggage manipulation system, maintaining the complete operations of the existing system,” STV said in an email, saying that the team will be coordinated closely with the interested parties at the airport to integrate advanced classification technology while not disturbing passengers.
STV, which has carried out airport projects at Laguardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, among others, has announced this month that he has launched a national aviation practice to meet the augmented passenger demand and tackle aging facilities.
The company said in a statement that aviation practice “will support airport owners, operators, developers and airlines and more than $ 151 billion needed to improve airports and other aviation nuclei throughout the United States.”
The national aviation practice of the company will include planning, design, engineering and program management services (PM/CM), while advising customers on other services, such as digital, electrification, mobility technologies, resilience and sustainable design.
The company states that aviation practice will be aimed at fulfilling growing traffic at the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides that passenger traffic will increase to 158% of the levels of 2019 by 2040. It is expected that the load traffic will increase by 167% during the same time.
