Contracting giant Turner Construction has announced a restructuring of the company that will focus its services on two main lines of business that it says will expand its footprint in the emerging markets of biopharmaceuticals, energy transition, data centers and semiconductors.
The company said longtime executives Abrar Sheriff and Tom Reilly have been named presidents of its new construction and business services lines, respectively. He said the latter is a fork of Turner’s integrated solutions offerings, including its supply chain subsidiary unit SourceBlue. The executives had been in the role of executive vice president,
“As our projects grow in size and complexity, we are constantly advancing our capabilities,” said Sheriff, who is also chairman and CEO of Turner International.
As head of the business unit, Reilly said he will focus on growing the business in new markets. “We will be expanding SourceBlue, the Turner engineering group, our self-fulfillment operations and other innovative services,” he said. Purchase of the company in July of Ireland-based advanced technology firm Dornan Engineering Group is supporting this growth, Reilly added. It is active throughout Europe.
With the promotions of Abrar and Reilly, the company also added seven senior employees to its ranks executive management group, with Aaron Wiebelhaus promoted to CEO and Lisa Ballantyne promoted to Chief Administrative Officer.
Davoren, that too serves as president of Flatiron-Dragados in North America, said the restructuring with the leadership of Sheriff and Reilly “It enhances our ability to deliver seamless, integrated solutions to our projects and our customers.”
Turner Construction ranks first on ENR’s 2024 Top 400 Contractors list. It reports nearly $33 billion in project portfolio.
