Winners are named within a £300m framework

Robertson and Equans have been appointed alongside more than a dozen SMEs in a £300m construction framework for Lancashire County Council.

The four-year framework, which opened to tender in December, is for construction works contracted in partnership and is also open to use by the University of Central Lancashire, Lancashire Constabulary and the Diocese of Lancaster.

The work to be contracted through the framework includes new construction, extensions, adaptations and renovations. The full list of successful contractors is below.

The council’s contract notice, published online on September 22, said it would seek to procure construction works “in partnership with the principles of Sir John Egan’s reports”. This is a reference to Rethink construction i Accelerating changewhich date back to 1998 and 2002 respectively.

About 29 bids were received for the frame, according to the contract award announcement.

Also included in the scope of the framework is what the council described as reactive emergency works. While no Lancashire County Council schools were found to contain autoclave reinforced concrete (RAAC) this summer, Our Lady Catholic High School in the Diocese of Lancaster was forced to delay beginning of term for several days to ensure their building was safe.
