Providence, Rhode Island-based Gilbane Building Co. has tapped a construction vet to head its work west.
Ryan Heeter has joined the company as senior vice president and leader of the Western Division, which includes California, Arizona and Nevada, according to a Announcement of June 20.
Heeter brings more than 25 years of experience to Gilbane spanning all major markets and delivery methods, according to the release. His past projects include the Knight Cancer Research Building at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s California Healthcare Facility in Stockton, California. Gilbane told Construction Dive.
Before joining Gilbane, Heeter was the vice president of San Mateo, Calif.-based Truebeck Construction, according to his LinkedIn. He was also senior vice president of XL Construction, based in Milpitas, California.

The company has had a busy 2024 on its executive front. In April, the contractor named one of its executives, Ted Holt, as a division leader of its Mid-Atlantic officesand on January 1, current CEO Adam Jelen took the reins how former CEO Tom Laird transferred to president.
