
Jacobsen construction crews prepare to place the final beam in the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine University of Utah building. The 211,457 square meter teaching, training and research facility will include a high-tech anatomy laboratory, bespoke classrooms, an advanced simulation center and collaboration spaces, as well as conference auditoriums that will serve to the more than 500 students in the university’s medical program.
The eight-story building, which sits on the hillside in the heart of the University of Utah Health Campus, will replace the former School of Medicine facility that was built in the 1960s.
Work on the project began with groundbreaking in October 2022. Installation of the first structural steel began in February 2024. VCBO architecture i Yazdani study are the design partners of the project.
