The past few years have been busy for Southwest contractors of all kinds, and Phoenix-based Suntec Concrete is certainly a prime example of a company that has seen considerable business growth in that time.

For example, for last year’s specialty contractor rankings, Suntec reported $556 million in 2022 revenue in the Southwest, easily enough to land in the top spot. This impressive number represented an increase of more than 40% over its 2021 Southwest revenue figure of $394.2 million. While we can’t yet release the numbers reported for this year’s upcoming South West Top Specialty Contractors Ranking, we can report that Suntec saw significant additional growth in 2023.

Also of note is Suntec Concrete’s announcement earlier this year, its 40th in business, of its Employee Stock Ownership Plan. According to the company, “the move makes Suntec one of the 10 largest employee-owned construction companies in the country and the second largest employee-owned company based in Arizona.”

The contractor also took steps to expand its offering, launching its Engineering and Design division earlier this year as a stand-alone entity offering “full-service structural engineering.”

For these reasons, the editors of ENR have named Suntec Concrete as a 2024 Southwest Specialty Contractor of the Year The company will be featured in the Sept. 2, 2024, print edition of ENR Southwest, which will also feature the annual Southwest Specialty Contractors Rankings .

Also, so far the following companies have submitted information to be included in this year’s ranking. Be sure to check out the September 2nd issue to see where they rank.
