The NFL’s Denver Broncos are preparing to begin construction on a $175 million practice facility and headquarters. The team aims to have the facility completed in time for the 2026 football season.

The proposed 205,000 square foot, 3-story building would replace an existing training center built in 1990 on the same 26-acre campus in Englewood, Colorado. Football team leaders say the new facility would unite spaces for their players, football operations and business operations under one roof. It would be 30% larger than the existing training center and would also feature an underground parking level.

The facility was designed by HOK and Rockwell Group. Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner said in a statement that the facility would feature “a modern Colorado design.”

“While we considered several options for modifying our current facility, we decided to do it the right way by building a new player-focused headquarters with an efficient design and the latest amenities,” Penner said.

Broncos representatives did not immediately respond to inquiries about the project’s hiring.

The new building would connect to the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse, a 115,000-square-foot indoor practice facility completed by Saunders Construction Inc. in 2014.

The Broncos had originally planned to begin construction last spring, but decided to delay the start until after the NFL preseason so fans could still watch training camp sessions from a berm next to the fields.

The new facility will be located where this berm now stands. Once construction is complete, they plan to demolish the current building and build a new berm over it.

The project comes after the Broncos finished a $100 million upgrade project last year at their stadium, Empower Field at Mile High.
