People of Texas and Louisiana: September 2024

The recently appointed infrastructure company Ferrovial Pepe Baraja as CEO of the US and Canada, reporting to Ferrovial Construction CEO Ignacio Gastón. Baraja, who will be in Austin, replaces him Angel Luis Sanchezwho was promoted to a global role as director of major projects and operations. Baraja now oversees all ongoing projects and business development activities in North America as Ferrovial steps up its efforts in the United States. As director of major projects and operations, Sánchez will define strategy and lead bids, budgets, forecasts and performance reviews for major projects. Sánchez will also oversee project controls, operations structures and global workforce planning for Ferrovial.

Jamie Dorland

Jamie Dorland he was recently promoted to vice president of commercial projects for Caddell Construction. Based in the company’s office in Bentonville, Ark., Dorland has helped grow Caddell’s automation group through initial construction for the automation and retrofitting of existing warehouse space for the automation.

Dave McGlashan has joined WSP’s Houston office as a licensed architect. He will provide project leadership and support for pharmaceutical/life sciences, science and technology laboratory planning, and advanced manufacturing projects. He has more than 35 years of industry experience, including work on more than 12 million square meters of science and technology facilities, as well as pilot plants and manufacturing facilities for companies in the pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology, medical devices and semiconductors.

Forrest Wilson

Newly appointed JE Dunn Construction Forrest Wilson as the leader of its Oklahoma City office. Wilson joined the company in 2006 as an intern and has since worked as a project engineer and senior project manager in the company’s Nashville and Austin offices. In Austin, Wilson helped lead the construction of the Sixth and Guadalupe tower.

Brett Flint

Brett Flint has joined the planning, engineering and program management office of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam as a senior project manager in the municipal group. Flint will oversee construction and maintenance projects for port and coastal structures.

VanTrust Real Estate, a commercial real estate development company, has hired Kiran Shivaramu as senior director of development services. Shivaramu, who has more than 24 years of experience in commercial design and construction, including working on mixed-use, office, commercial, hospitality, education and healthcare projects, will be based in the Dallas office of the company

Clay Jones

Neel-Schaffer, Biloxi, Miss., has appointed Clay Jones to the newly created position of South Mississippi Business Development Coordinator. Jones previously worked as city manager for D’Iberville, Miss.

Atlas Technical Consultants in Austin, a provider of infrastructure and environmental solutions, has hired Shannon Rowley as director of human resources. Rowley previously held a similar role at MWH Global, a project delivery company focused on water and wastewater infrastructure.

Matt McBride

Matt McBride has been promoted to senior project manager at Westwood Contractors in Fort Worth. McBride has more than two decades of experience in the construction industry.
