Completed in January 2024, this complex renovation included major upgrades to the W Hotel’s main lobby, reception area, restaurant, ballroom, meeting rooms, banquet kitchen and outdoor patio. The project team also completed an extension of the main staircase structure.
At the same time, the hotel continued to operate at full capacity. To avoid disruption or conflict, the project team installed full-height partitions to discreetly navigate guests through construction areas. In the meeting areas of the hotel, a temporary tunnel allowed safe access from these spaces.
With a limited rate of lifts, just-in-time deliveries kept the site clean and functional throughout the renovation process.
Additive manufacturing also played an important role in the project with the inclusion of 3D printed panels in the main lobby pit. Meanwhile, a NanaWall system was strategically positioned to create an uninterrupted flow between the outdoor courtyard and the hotel’s interior main lobby.
