The leadership of Neenah, Wis.-based Miron Construction has undergone a historic passing of the torch.

David Voss Jr. has stepped down as chairman and CEO of the firm, which he held for 45 years, the company said in a News release of December 18. He became chairman of the builder’s board on Jan. 1, the company told Construction Dive.

Dan Voss will succeed his father as CEO and will also act as secretary, according to the statement.

Miron Construction operates in a variety of different construction verticals including commercial work, government jobs, healthcare facilities and commercial establishments, according to its website. The contractor has also made improvements to the field and fan area at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, since 2011.

Voss Jr. has co-directed the family-owned Miron Construction since 1979, according to the release. Greg Kippenhan and Pat Voss originally worked alongside David Voss Jr., and in 2003 Kippenhan’s son Tim Kippenhan took over co-ownership with Voss Jr.

In his new role, Voss Jr. will continue to support, guide and influence various areas of the business as part of a multi-year succession plan that began over the past two years, according to the statement.

“Miron Construction has been my life’s work, and I am immensely proud of what we have built,” said Voss Jr. in the statement

In addition to Dan Voss becoming secretary and CEO, other executives will assume additional leadership roles:

  • Tim Kippenhan – President and COO.
  • David Voss III – Vice President and Director of Construction Operations.
  • Dean Basten – Treasurer and CFO.

The family business opened in 1918. Patrick G. Miron, Voss Jr.’s maternal grandfather, founded the company as a local brick-and-mortar store, according to the release. He will continue his roots through Dan Voss and David Voss III, also son of David Voss Jr.
