As President Trump sees more of his candidates for the Cabinet confirmed by the Senate, the White House announces the selections for more subcabinet slots.

Among those newly selected for key federal infrastructure is the former home member of a term and the legislator and official of New York County Marcus Molinaro, whom Trump has chosen to direct. The Federal Traffic Administration.

Molinaro’s name was sent to the Senate on February 3. He served in the House of 2023-2024, but was defeated for re-election last November.

In his career in the house, Molinaro was part of the Transport and Infrastructure Committee (T&I). This panel has jurisdiction over traffic problems for traffic and a wide range of other modes of transport.

The chairman of the T&I Committee, Sam Graves (R-MO.) He said in a publication on social networks that supports Molinaro’s candidacy for the upper place of the FTA.

Graves said that while Molinaro was in the house, he was “a valued and active member of T&I, successfully moving the bills through the Committee and the Chamber.” It includes a measure supported by Molinao at the last congress that aims to improve the compliance with Amtrak Station in North -American with disabilities, added Graves.

The Molinaro selection also obtained the support of the American Public Transit Transport Association. In a statement, the President and CEO of the apta, Paul P. Skoutelas, cited Molinaro’s experience in the T&I house and his familiarity with Transit as executive in the county in Dutchess County.

Skoutelas also said that a significant development of surface transport events is the re -authorization of the federal road and traffic programs, which will have to expire on September 30, 2026.

Restauard has long been on the legislative and industry agenda and the debate will only be intensified in the following weeks and months. Skoutelas said that the next re -authorization suitable would be to “secure robust federal investments” in infrastructure.

The Transport Workers’ Union issued a statement of support for Molinaro. Twu’s international president John Samuelsen said that while he was in the house, Molinaro “was a strong defender of public transport in New York State.”

Molinaro has been a strong critic of the Congestion Price Plan recently implemented in New York City last month, according to media reports. The program establishes tolls in vehicles that enter Baix Manhattan and will use the funds to support the bonds to finance MTA capital projects.
