Guoming Lin is the LEGACY AWARD OF 2025 South -East South -East.

Through more than 30 years of career and more than 3,000 projects, Guoming Lin has established itself as a geotechnical engineer in its Base of Savannah, Georgia, so much so that it is known as affectionately as “Dr. Dirt.”

Lin, Vice President and Senior Consultant of Terracon, has been appointed winner of the Southeast Southeest Legacy Award during the decades of impact on industry and his efforts to build the next generation of engineers.

“Through inexhaustible dedication, the prominence has increased as a pioneer in the Geotechnical Engineering Consulting,” says M. Gayle Packer, President and CEO of Terracon. “Considered the project expert that covers the southeast of the United States, Guoming is known affectionately by clients as” Dr. Dirt. ‘”

Moving to Savannah in the early 1990’s to start consulting as a geotechnical call for all the main ports projects with ports of Georgia, regularly works on energy, manufacturing, sports facilities, hospitality, public works, Airports, federal facilities and more.

Much of his tent work has been completed to the authority Ports de Georgia de Savannah, the fourth largest and fastest growth port in the country, where the terminals are in low marshy areas underlined by gentle marine deposits. In the last 30 more years, Lin has supported all major projects there, managing and supervising geotechnical explorations in hundreds of projects. He has consulted all the robberies for the new construction, as well as updates or improvements, and has led a team of geotechnical engineers that has carried out many pile load test programs, stability of slope for the dredging and made several Soil improvement technologies.

Other major projects include the LNG terminal of the island of Kinder Morgan Elba, where he has worked on various projects since his 2001 recommendation, including as a geotechnical engineer for the last three phases of the terminal’s expansion. It has also been essential for providing geotechnical and material tests for the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, the Automatic Giant $ 10 Million Campus near Savannah.

Lin has been the main engineer for five award-winning projects, including the 2006 Grand Prix of Georgia’s American consulting companies for his geotechnical study for the expansion of the island’s island terminal of the Elba.

No matter how productive, Lin constantly devotes his time to support his colleagues at all levels and published more than 20 works in journals and professional procedures. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Deep Foundation Institute. Outside of its engineering papers, it is active in the community, including fundraising for Habitat for Humanity, United Way and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
