The recoil of construction increased to 8.7 months in April, according to the Backlog Construction Indicators survey made by associated builders and contractors. The figure has increased 0.2 months since March and is the highest figure recorded by the survey by 20 months.
“The contractors remain busy,” said Anirban Basu, an ABC chief economist, in a statement. “Backlog increased in April and is now at the highest level since September 2023”.
However, he added, “almost 22% of contractors had a delayed or canceled project in April due to rates, up to 18% in March, while 87% have been notified on the prices of material related materials.”
Since April 2024, the decline has increased by 0.3%.
