The largest toy company in the world opened its new American center in Boston on May 15, marking the beginning of the end until its tenure more than 50 years in its former Connecticut headquarters.
While the LEGO group officially opened its 157,000 square meters offices in Boston Bay on May 15, its relocation of ENFIELD, Conn., Will not be completed by the end of next year.
The six -storey office is adjusted by the structure and designed by BDG is located at Lyrik in 1001 Boylston St., a 20 -story office building completed last year. The tower is part of a larger air rights development over Massachusetts’ Turnpike, which includes a hotel and a Rivian Auto showroom.
“As you can imagine, building a space for a company like the Lego group required a lot of creativity,” said Ryan Megenedy, a senior executive of Structure Tone, in an email to Enr. “Many design elements echo the” studs “of the iconic Lego brick, which means we were working with many curves and radii. We also built four central stairs on five floors that allowed us to incorporate a lot of fun and leisure models throughout the space. We are incredibly proud of how it turned out.”
The Office Space certified by gold and the Golden Good Leed includes sky terraces, meeting spaces of 90 more, more than 660 working stations, a gym, parents’ rooms and flexible well -being for employees.

Christiansen, CEO of the Lego group in a statement. “Boston’s hub will open new ways for LEGO colleagues to create, connect and grow as we continue our mission to inspire and develop tomorrow’s builders in all United States.”
Danish toimaker is also building a $ 1 billion regional distribution center in Virginia, which will be opened in 2027. Last year Lego selected Gray | Hourigan, a joint company of Gray Inc. and Richmond, Basate Hourigan, as a general contractor of the Virginia project.
The Boston headquarters project also included: Samuels & Associates, project owner; Syska Hennessy, Mep Design and Leed; Collaborative lux, llight design consultant; Lumenwerx, lInstallation of light; CDA, audio/visual design consultant; McCain, aUdio/visual installation; and Creatacor, eXhibit manufacturers.
