Two construction workers died on Wednesday when a crane crane boom collapsed in a workplace on Merrit Island, FLA.

Osha researchers were at the scene after the incident, but a cause of collapse has not yet been determined. The crane boom dropped for a period of high winds in the area.

The collapse was located at the site of the new hospital of 460,000 square meters of the Cape Canaveral, which is now under construction of the non -profit owner.

Gilbane Building Co., who is responsible for the construction of the project, published a statement on June 5 on the incident. “Yesterday afternoon, two commercial contract workers, one employee for Baker Concrete and the other for another commercial contractor, were fatally injured as a result of an incident that involved a crane. We share our deepest condolences with families, loved ones and co -workers.”

The firm adds that work has been suspended. Baker Concrete Builders, a subsidiary of Baker Construction Enterprises, did not respond to a comment request from Enr Press Time.

Gilbane said in his statement that it is “to support our commercial contractors and to work with them and the authorities in an active research to understand the circumstances that surround the incident.

The crane crane involved in collapse belongs to Maxim Crane Works, the national team supplier based in Wilder, Ky.

Although a cause of collapse has not yet been named, the national meteorological service reported wind gusts of up to 50 mph in the area when a storm moved to the region on June 4.
