The Perini tutor will build the storage and storage installation of $ 1.87 million as part of the New York Port Authority and the redevelopment program for the $ 10 billion bus terminal in New York.

It is planned to be launched this fall, the three -year project is calling for a new storage and staging installation of seven plains, located between the novelties of 9th and 10th, and between 39 and western 40 streets, with space for storing up to 350 buses.

The Perini tutor will also build an innovative ramp structure that covers an adjoining block in order to provide a smoother connection between the higher levels of the Lincoln installation and tunnel, while reducing congestion on the streets of the city.

With a storage space limited to the existing terminal, most buses spend periods between the maximum travel times of travel parked or the rantine in the local streets and the nearby surface lots scattered on the west side of Manhattan. Others become empty in New Jersey. In addition to providing interior storage space for vehicles and accommodating long -term commuter growth projections, the staging and storage installation will support the transition from regional carriers to electric fleets. The building will also provide 67,500 square meters of commercial space at street level.

Once completed, the new staging and storage installation will initially serve as a temporary terminal during the planned construction of the port authority of a new main terminal of 2.1 million square meters, of 180 doors, the central piece of the redevelopment program of $ 10 million of the agency aimed at completely reviewing the area of area of 75 years existing.

The program began in May 2025 with the start of the construction of two roofs that cover the portions of Dyer Avenue and Lincoln Tunnel Expressway. When completed, the “cutlery” will provide an additional bus staging room during the construction phase of the new terminal, and will be transformed into 3.5 hectares of publicly accessible open space.

Aecom Tishman is responsible for the construction of the $ 271 million cover project, with MLJ’s hiring as a general contractor.

The new main terminal is expected to be operational in 2032, with all the phases of the redevelopment planned to complete by 2040. The program management services for redevelopment are provided by a joint company of Louis Berger and HNTB.
