The contractors added an estimate of 15,000 jobs in general in June, marking the second monthly job report of the construction of the Office of Labor Statistics. However, only one sector (commercial contractors of specialty) obtained general labor profits, and these companies collectively added about 18,400 estimated positions during June.

In the meantime, building contractors showed a decrease of 900 jobs, with residential companies that covered 500 estimated positions and non -residential contractors who reported 400 jobs. According to BLS, he also reported a general decline in jobs, which saw a fall of 2,800 positions, according to BLS.

The economists of the construction industry, although they praise the positive number of June, said that several factors that contribute to economic uncertainty limit growth.

“While many will encourage this job report, some of the leaders of construction companies may not be among this group,” said Anirban Basu, an economist in chief of associated builders and contractors, in a statement. “The June occupation report, along with recent inflation data, indicates that the United States economics continues to demonstrate a solid impulse, stable unemployment and decrease in inflation.”

However, there is a disadvantage.

“Although recession fears are comforting, this data effectively dropped the door in a cut of interest in the July Federal Reserve,” Basu continued. “An increasing fraction of contractors is experiencing weakness in a delay, as projects are postponed in an uncertain economic environment, along with such stubborn loans costs.”

Basu also emphasized that the recent increases in the prices of construction materials “will promote the costs of delivery of the construction, more economic projects will be performed and the margins of the contractor decrease. The change in immigration policy is to strengthen this dynamic.”

Macrina Wilkins, a senior research analyst of the General Associate Contractors of America, said in a similar way, saying in a press release: “ Today’s employment numbers show that companies are eager to find and hire workers even in the midst of the uncertainty of the largest market. The hiring is better than expected, especially with updating reviews, since Persistent ask companies to hire when they can.

Jeffrey D. Shoaf, CEO of AGC, echoed these evaluations, adding the situation in this way: “Anything that provides more security for the economy should help bring more developers in the private sector to the bench and increase the demand for construction.”
