
The construction of the Utah State Capitol Office Building is scheduled for completion in early 2026. The project, which broke the ground in 2022, included the demolition of an office building from the 1960’s.

Okland Construction has been called Salt Lake City Home for more than 100 years, and the general contractor has constantly grown while continuing his tradition of building key leading projects in the Intermobtain Zone of Utah, Idaho and Montana. The firm recorded $ 1.026 million in regional revenue for 2024 and its ranking on the South -West Opening Contractors list -west and the list of inaugural contractors in the South Region -west will be presented at the magazine’s number on August 25.
Some of the recent projects of the contractor include the New Ballpark in America First Square and Larry H. Miller Megaplex in Downtown Daybreak, Utah; a reform of the Delta Center area for Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth in Salt Lake City; and the construction of several high -profile buildings on the Utah University campus. The contractor has just finished the project of the North Capitol building, which will host a State History Museum and offices in the Capitol complex enclosure in Salt Lake City.
When they were not busy building regional icons, Okland employees registered more than 17,000 hours of volunteer service last year. The contractor also works with organizations that support women in construction and invest in education funding scholarships and supporting commercial programs for the next generation.
The companies of the year are chosen by a vote of regional ENR publishers from all over the country based on a group of finalists selected carefully. The factors include the growth of revenue, new initiatives, current projects, community and industry contributions and other considerations.
