Southern Air is the specialized contractor of the year of Midatlantic for the second time. Lynchburg -based mechanical contractor also won the concession in 2018.
Known for deploying design design capabilities to build efficient and profitable air conditioning systems, of plume and electricity, Southern Air is the specialized contractor of the year of Midatlantic Enr for the second time.
Lynchburg -based mechanical contractor, who also won the specialized firm of the 2018 Midatlantic EnrIt proves the success of its project delivery approach, which the firm ensures that project owners use a unique contact for their design and construction services. The firm says that its success has been promoted by its long reputation to bring value to the project team with its highly trained and qualified artisans. South Air currently uses and trains more than 100 apprentices licensed throughout Virginia. The contractor also uses the latest technology for management and coordination. In recent years, the firm has focused its charity on non -profit organizations that sponsor or help professional education in the Midatlantic, including Central Virginia Community College.
Southern Air will be presented at the East Printing Number of East, which will also include the rankings of the contractor Enr East Top Specialty.
The ranking of specialized contractors includes businesses that do business in Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, DC, Mainland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pensilvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. The rankings are based on the total regional income of the construction services of the participating companies, and also include the state income and various specialties and disciplines, as it is applied.
The new ranking follows the consolidation of 2025 of the regional Editions of Enr in five new regions to reflect a continuous commitment to offer the most important and timely coverage to the readers, in line with the evolution of the landscape of the construction industry. Lifepoint Hospitals: New Health Hospitals and Behavior Rehabilitation
Construction manager – Je Dunn; Owner: joint company between Centra Health and Lifepoint
The new hospitals are two buildings on the new Centra New Simons Run campus. They are part of a great modernization project, which also includes a significant addition into the main building of Lynchburg General Hospital. Behavioral Health Hospital encompasses 60,000 square meters and will expand the mental health services for the region by adding 36 patient rooms and all areas of support treatment for advanced psychiatric treatment. The rehabilitation hospital will include 61,000 square meters and will add 41 new patients with modern rehabilitation equipment and training areas. Air Southern will be very confident of the BIM planning process to fulfill the demanding calendar for the construction of these two buildings. The projects have used the prefabrication of underground plumbing and electrical services to manage quality and productivity. All the underground infrastructure of the electric room for both buildings was manufactured outside the site in one piece and was installed through our total trimble station. The quality control aspect guarantees that all Stub Sugs will be at the exact location required after the slab is placed. Most of the above soil in materials has been prefabricated and will be installed shortly. The firm was also associated with Je Dunn to create some key construction model models in their store to ensure that each SUM understood the sensitivity of their own means and methods to ensure the success of the prefabrication and the necessary finishes.
Liberty University Champions Center
Construction Manager – Vannoy Construction; Owner – Liberty University
The Champions Center is a complement of 34,000 square meters to the existing Hancock Visitors Center. As an extension of the Welcome Center, the Champions Center will regularly host potential students and their families. Creative screens, videos and interactive content will contextualize Liberty’s history and growth in the light of their mission, and will share how Liberty has been a different Christian institution committed to the great commission. The building will be widely based on audiovisual technology to transmit the university message. The building includes a new theater with a curved screen of 1800 square meters, an interactive champions room and a large multipurpose room with 360 viewing screens. Audio status and computer controlled visual system will require several kilometers of data wiring to operate.
East campus power plant
General contractor – Nielsen Construction; Owner – James Madison University
This project involves the construction of a spare steam plant for the East Campus of the James Madison University. It is a multifase project that includes the demolition of the old power plant and the construction of a new steam plant and a cooling plant at the same location. This project shows the abilities and experience of industrial construction of South Air. The two new B&W steam boilers can produce 80,000 LB per hour of steam at 250 PSIG each. The completion of this project will guarantee the capacity of heating and cooling of the Campus for the University for the next decades. Construction will require Air Southern to be based on a previous experience of other great useful projects. The canalization will require that several areas of the plant have sets classified with asme code to be manufactured in the ASME U and PP program of the company.
