The Riva Residence Tower, a luxury waterfront building located between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Rocks, is the first architectural landmark of the maritime city of Dubai. Given its proximity to the water, the structure was built with stone piers and deep pier foundations that reached sea level to ensure long-term durability.
Sustainability was a key focus for the project, which aimed to achieve LEED Silver certification. To achieve this goal as well, the team implemented low-flow fixtures and smart irrigation systems to reduce water use.
Materials with high solar reflectance were implemented, as well as a waste management system that reduces both energy and water.
In addition to its residential areas, the tower also features green spaces, an infinity pool, a high-end lobby and a pedestrian promenade overlooking the waterfront. Despite a late redesign of the building’s facade, the project was completed on time and on budget.
