Located along the Mediterranean coast, the $36.6 million project transforms the waterfront into a vibrant public promenade. Designed to promote sustainability and community use, the first phase covers about half of the planned 8.7-mile stretch and includes pedestrian and bicycle paths, landscaped parks, man-made lakes, interactive fountains and solar lighting.
The design includes energy-efficient technology and modern infrastructure for water, power and irrigation, emphasizing environmental responsibility and urban livability. A major engineering element includes four bridges and an overpass crossing the railway line to improve connectivity between districts.
Coastal conditions, characterized by high groundwater and saline, erosion-prone soils, required specialized geological studies and durable construction techniques. The team synchronized the promenade with the surrounding infrastructure, such as utilities and nearby roads, requiring precise design integration and step-by-step coordination.
Environmental preservation and climate resilience were prioritized through assessments that protected dunes and vegetation, while construction adapted to marine exposure.
