What started as a simple interior renovation that included a paint and carpet update in a 40,000 square meter space transformed into a standard office for TikTok. Once the client decided to pursue a more ambitious vision, the team adapted to ensure the project would stay on schedule.

A custom felt baffle ceiling in the pantry radiates outward from the island, while a custom, backlit panel system in the reception immediately transports visitors into the virtual world.

The monumental staircase features TikTok’s signature pink glass and a custom batten system that brings unique digital elements, while murals and graphics by local artist Morgan Zion relate to Seattle culture.

One of the challenges was to design a vibrant space for engineers and programmers who might need subtle environments. Designing for diversity meant providing sensory moments through ambient lighting, soothing colors and softer finishes.

In designing for neurodiversity, the team reimagined materials as tools for sensory well-being. Custom felt baffle ceilings improve acoustic performance while introducing warm texture. Calm lighting, soft finishes, living spaces and wellness rooms offer spaces to decompress. Working closely with vendors and specialists, the team explored custom finishes and unconventional applications to meet precise acoustic standards while aligning with the soft and welcoming palette of the space. Each solution balanced function, aesthetics and brand personality.

The team reimagined materials as tools for sensory well-being, curating tactile and acoustic experiences that promote calm, comfort and connection. Working closely with vendors and specialists, they explored custom finishes and unconventional applications to meet precise acoustic standards while aligning with the soft and welcoming palette of the space.

Completed on time and on budget in February 2025, the project team also recorded zero lost or recordable time incidents in 59,200 hours of work. A comprehensive safety program included weekly site audits, access to urgent third-party care, workplace-wide air purifiers, and multiple safety measures addressing fall prevention, heat stress, and fire safety.
