$15 million Stargate data center opens in Wisconsin

A massive data center development in the Midwest has officially begun shortly before the end of the year, according to multiple sources.

Construction crews officially broke ground on $15 billion data center campus in Port Washington, Wis., according to a Vantage Data Centers publish to X. The project, named Lighthouse, is part of the wider one $500 billion Stargate initiativea partnership with OpenAI, Oracle and Vantage Data Centers.

Contractors at $8 billion first phase include Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Contracting, Des Moines, Iowa-based Weitz Construction, a joint venture of New York-based Turner Construction and St. Louis-based McCarthy Building Cos. Louis, and Michels, based in Brownsville, Wis., InfraUS reports.
